AN: This was kind of a for-fun venture, taking the characters from the Remi and Harry stories and transplanting them into Stoker’s Dracula. I kind of did it willy-nilly, so who knows if it’ll be finished, but the first bits are kind of fun so maybe worth posting.
3 May (or maybe 'Floreal', or 'Prairial'- poss. 'Germinal' given location) Arriv. 1st of May: In Europe! More spec. Germany (left of France). Quite eventful couple of days (see personal journals unless you are not me). Officially: Left Munich two days earlier, as ordered by the Brotherhood and in compliance with request of local authorities. Doing quite well on my own, despite lack of interpreter; the locals seem to prefer my speaking French over my speaking German, though (double checked at last inn, definitely in Germany). Unfortunately had to leave the Brotherhood's (extremely adept, sufficient and virtuous) German liaison Heinz in Klausenberg, and since then have been getting along very well. Apparently a mordant fear of dogs, and the need to check one's train car, luggage, and hats for said animals, while not so unusual in these parts, is unusual enough that (previously mentioned) local authorities take interest, especially when coupled with theft. Apologized to the Lady for the loss of her terrier and proffered the nice purse Heinz had made but she seemed disconsolate. A shame, as bag holds twenty average-sized stakes and fur is warm – have most reluctantly decided to keep it as a charitable donation to the cause (Herr Schnitzel, may your valiant spirit infuse these holy weapons and protect me on my journies). Had a brief stop down the line after leaving Heinz with the nice gendarmes: turns out 'Paprika hendl' is a dish, and not a lewd imposition. Recommend Brotherhood issue recipe book with phrase book next time to prevent future complications (also guides with fears of less common animals, perhaps?).
Addendum 3 May: Also 'mamalinga' and 'impletata'. Though let it be clear I don't regret my actions in regards to the first, as I think it is a perfectly reasonable mistake and he didn't even know my mother or her culinary skills.
Trains are either late all the time, or watch was broken when Heinz opened it to check for dogs – Germany is supposed to be all about watches, isn't it? Encountered no forces of darkness yet, nor watchmakers sufficiently impressed with good character to offer free repairs.
Will continue log later. Nice men in puffy shirts invited me downstairs for what is either drink or a fight to the death. Will, as always, come prepared for either.
